LOOK to the 3 dimensional medium of clay to express your imagination
and sense of aesthetic satisfaction.
Students will work at their own pace .
Students will be taught the rudiments of working with clay.
MATERIALS:
Experienced Students to supply own tools. Earthenware clay may be purchased in class – for both beginners and experienced students in class - $15 for 25 lbs (enough clay for many projects.) Work can be fired by instructor to make it permanent - $5.00 per piece.
BEGINNING STUDENTS consider the following:
Paper towels;
Sponge,
Spray bottle,
Approx a 12x12” tile on which to place/work your sculpture,
Newspaper or magazine image of something to show what art form you may want to pursue (e.g., realism, abstract, etc.)
Plastic bags (supermarket type)

Description
Teaching the art of watercolor through allowing. This is a free flowing, loosening up watercolor class for
painters of all mediums. Beginners are welcome. Watercolor techniques will be taught and Linda's unique painting techniques will be demonstrated. The class will practice the new techniques and then there will be a brief meditation before creative painting begins to allow students to open up to the art of allowing within themselves. Students may work on their own projects, or those suggested by others and music will be played in the background. There will be a brief critique, without judgement at the close of class.

“Portrait painting made easy” in Oils or Acrylic paint: This class is a beginner’s class on the fundamentals of portrait painting. For more flexibility, oils enable the artist to work with more time while acrylic dry at a quicker rate and is a more complex medium for portrait art. We will work from a simple portrait palette and work from a live model and photographs.
Whether you have painted before or haven’t painted in a while, you will benefit from this class. Basics in painting such as values, color theory, contrasts, composition and laying out your palette, brushes, materials, and many other topics will be covered.
Step one is taking the class. Then you will need to know the other steps in the process. This involves things like…

Description
You will learn diverse methods and creations of varied pieces of Art Sculptures.
Using Earthenware Clay (NAN709) as the medium, we will assist you through your
exclusive personal imaginary journey. Students will receive instruction on hand-building techniques in clay that can be used in both figurative and non-figurative modeling. This is an ideal class for young students who want to get their hands in clay. Anyone interested should come by and view Carmine's studio in 206B. We later will fire those pieces at a nominal fee (size dependent) Clay will be provided in 25lb Blocks. Cost of $15 Basic tools will also be provided for an approximate cost of $12.

Description
The purpose of this course is to teach the beginner the fundamental technique
of Oriental ink and wash painting. The Oriental mind has taken an elementary
black and white kind of painting and developed a mature and sophisticated art
form from it.
The main emphasis is to explain this technique as simply as possible. The amateur should
learn and enjoy to express easily and freely in an individual style the feeling obtained from
nature.

The Art of Oil Pastels

Description
Renowned local artist, Rick Cannizzaro will be teaching a class on the techniques and advantages of the use of oil pastels. Rick has artwork hanging in several shows and galleries in North Florida, and is well-known for his colorful work in pastels and other media. For the past year Rick has been the commissioned artist for Ocean Publishing. He recently signed on for another year to create a new marine life series of paintings. His pastel paintings were also used in his recent book for children called “LUDI the Loggerhead”.
Rick will share and teach his techniques on design, the blending of color and drawing balance with oil pastels. Each student will have direct instruction on the use of special materials that make this medium interesting and productive for your special art.
Registration is open to adults wanting a very unique instruction on the use of oil pastel for your next fine art painting.
